Two more senior staff named to White House national security team

Dina Powell, who served as a counselor to President Donald Trump during the election campaign, and Nadia Schadlow, a foreign and defense policy expert, were announced on Thursday as the newest members of the national security advisor's staff.
Powell, who was born in Egypt and speaks Arabic fluently, is the new deputy national security adviser for strategy. She participated in this week's meeting between President Trump and Saudi Arabia's deputy crown prince. Schadlow, the new deputy assistant to the president for national security strategy, recently published a book on 15 US military interventions in areas of conflict. The No. 2 official on the staff of Gen. H.R. McMaster is K.T. McFarland, the deputy national security adviser.
