US Vice President Mike Pence said Wednesday that the firing of FBI director James Comey was "the right decision at the right time", adding that it was not connected to the investigation of possible contacts between Trump associates and Moscow. Earlier, Sen. Diane Feinstein, the top Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee, said US President Donald Trump had told her that he fired Comey because "the department is a mess".
